Alan spent his early years in Kuwait before coming to a military school in the UK.
After graduating from UCL with a degree in Psychology he spent three years in Kenya as a science teacher on VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas).
He worked for a number of small software companies before joining DEC as the Software Services Manager for the Middle East. During this time he attended the International Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD.
He has been an independent psychologist since the early 1990s and clients for whom he’s undertaken assignments include Aviva, British Friendly, BT Syntegra, Computershare, CSFB, FT Finance, Hannover Re, Liverpool Victoria (LV), Quietroom, Spinach and Swiss Re.
Conferences at which he has spoken include those organised by Amice, The Association of Financial Mutuals (NEDs), the Financial Services Forum, Gen Re, Hannover Re, Morningstar, The Protection Review, and Swiss Re.
